Halloween Parade
This morning was the annual Halloween Parade at the girls school. I was worried about where to go 1st since I have two kids at the same school and in different areas. I decided on being with Autumn most of the time and letting Aubrey walk with Autumn since Ashlyn is older. Aubrey even changed into her Tinker Bell costume to walk with Autumns class. We went by Ashlyn's classroom before the parade to take some pictures and see if she needed anything. The Kindergartners started it off and then the rest of the classes jump in at the end of the line. When Kindergartners make it all the way back to their rooms they sit and watch the rest of the school walk by. Ashlyn had a class party after the parade. Autumn had hers before the parade. Autumn had workshops with Halloween themed activities followed by a movie and pizza. I was able to help in the class a little and then take Autumn home a little early. It was fun hang out with Autumn until the parade started.

Autumn's Award
Autumn was a little behind at the beginning of Kindergarten. So her teacher recommended we place her in the new Kindergarten after school intervention program so that they could work one on one with her. They really focused on her alphabet, sounds, and sight words. Within a few weeks we started to see her really excel and today she was given an award of academic achievement improving in all areas. We are so proud of her and she was excited to get her award. Way to go Autumn.

Carving the Pumpkins
Our schedule is so crazy this year with soccer and everything else that we have going on that we had to break up the carving of the pumpkins into three nights. Noah helping Aubrey and Autumn the 1st night along with a little of my help, Me helping Ashlyn the 2nd night, and Noah and I finally completing ours on the 3rd night. We think they came out pretty good.

Spooky Dinner
Tonight was our annual spooky FHE dinner. We invited the Lafferty Family. They are some really good friends we made through soccer. I made the usual, brain jello salad, mini mummy dogs, kitty litter, and skeleton veggies with dip. The Lafferty family was asked to bring a dessert they brought a mummy jack o lantern cake. It was really cool. We played a game of family cranium afterwords. It was fun to visit with them and glad we have become friends.
And the Costumes are...
My girls have the hardest time trying to decide what to be for Halloween. This year my Aubrey decided right away on Tinker Bell. In fact she liked her costume so much I had a hard time getting her out of it. She even rocked out in it. Autumn went back and forth from pirate to witch to princess, finally deciding on Fancy Nancy. Ashlyn was the worse one when it came to deciding what to wear. She kept changing her mind at the store. I had one thing picked out and she would say "no" not that. She finally decided on the Movie Star when I told her she could where what we have at home. So here are their costumes for 2009.

Fright Fest
With season passes we take advantage of going to six flags all we can and we were able to find time in our crazy schedule to go yesterday evening to Fright Fest. The whole park is decorated for Halloween. They have trick or treating, characters dressed in costume, hidden characters in scare zones scaring all those that pass by, all shows are spooky and the music playing in the park is eerie and spooky. We didn't ride a ton of rides but made it to all the shows they offer. We all had a great time watching the different shows. We also were able to watch the new Tiger show. But our favorite was the sea lion show. It made us laugh through the whole show.

Aubrey's new Best Friend
All of Aubrey's friends are boys, so it was rather nice when she made friends with s little girl whose big sister is on Ashlyn's soccer team. Her name is Peyton and is only a couple months older than Aubrey, They play really well together and are a lot alike in so many ways. They love to play together at soccer practice and for the games. It is fun to see her running around with her new friend.
