4th of July
On this wonderful day of celebrating our freedom we were busy enjoying it with some fun activities. It all started at 8am when we went to the 4th of July pancake breakfast. It was one of the best breakfast we have ever had complete with bacon, eggs, hash browns, milk, apple and orange juice. They had a flag ceremony and races for the kids to play. On our way home we went by the farmers market to pick up some fresh locally grown fruit. Once we got home and ate some of our goodies we just bought we started to get our stuff ready for the afternoon neighborhood block party. Tristan made brownies, I made ice cream, the little ones took a nap, and Noah gathered all the chairs, towels, and other supplies needed for the party. Our neighborhood got permission from the city to close the street down for the day. We have a park by our home so we used that as the gathering place. We had a local burger shop supply all the hamburgers, hotdogs, and buns at a great price. They even lent us their grill which is a coffin made into a grill. There was a bouncehouse/waterslide, waterballons, basketball hoop and place to ride bikes. One of the neighbors even opened her pool for everyone to use. The kids had a great time going from thing to thing playing with all the kids. They got int the spirit of liberty by running around the park with flags and singing the star spangled banner. That evening the fireworks were shot off from the High School wich is located directly across the street from the park. We had a great view and a wonderful time together.
