Today July 2nd we took a drive to Wailuku in Central Maui into Ioa Valley to see Ioa Needle. It is rock formation covered with lush green vegetation that is 1,200 feet above the beautiful valley floor. We also walked along a path through a botanical garden. We then went to Kepaniwai Park and walked through some really neat Heritage Gardens which contained buildings and gardens from different ethnic groups(from Japan, Korea, China, Philippines, Portugal, and England) that have settled the Islands.

We grabbed some lunch and then went food shopping at Walmart and Costco. We topped the night off with swimming in the pool. I was a wonderful 1st official day in Maui.
